Description
This is not your first visit to Florence or you would like to deepen your knowledge of the city by discovering art treasures of the Renaissance not included on the main tourist routes?
Meet Florence from a different point of view with this private tour itinerary that takes you to some of the most relevant depictions of the Last Supper and cloisters of Florence. See places of communitarian spirituality and religious life, decorated and enriched by some of the most important Italian artists between the 1400s and 1500s. The sacred stories represented on the walls, rich in symbols, still speak of the beauty and silence that reigned in these spaces where friars and monks lived, surrounded by paintings that also inspired great masters such as Leonardo da Vinci for his “Last Supper” in Milan.
Visiting these places is usually relaxing and easy because they are not overcrowded with large tourist groups normally found in the main museums and monuments of Florence. For this reason visiting these churches will enable you to get deeper in touch with the real spirit of the masterpieces.
The programme will vary according with the days of opening of the sites.
The following could be included in the tour depending on the chosen day: the beautiful Last Supper of the convent of Ognissanti by Domenico Ghirlandaio, the refectory of the monastery of Sant’Apollonia, the first Last Supper of the Renaissance, the cloister of “Lo Scalzo,” masterpiece of the “painter who made no mistakes” Andrea del Sarto, the Cloister of the Vows in the church of Santissima Annunziata and the refectory of the welcoming convent of San Marco, among the more extraordinary for the feeling of deep peace that envelops the visitor.
