Discover some of the most important places in the historical heart of the Eternal City with this tour.
You’ll begin with a visit to the Colosseum. Led by your knowledgeable local guide, you’ll enter the enormous arena without standing in line (thanks to the included “skip-the-line” ticket). Your guide will introduce you to this magnificent symbol of Ancient Rome, to its architecture, history, and to the gladiatorial games that took place here for many, many years.
After the Colosseum visit, your guide will bring you across to the other side of the Roman Forum, to the Vittoriano (or “Altare della Patria” - “Altar of the Fatherland”). The enormous building was erected between 1885 and 1911 to commemorate the unification of Italy in the 1860s under King Vittorio Emanuele II. The Vittoriano offers splendid terraces from which you’ll enjoy spectacular views onto Rome.
