The most important collection of art in Italy, not considering the Vatican Museums, and among the largest in Europe. The Gallery was initially built by the architect Giorgio Vasari in the middle of the 16th Century to hold offices (Uffizi in Italian) for the Florentine Lordship, later on transformed into one of the oldest museums in Europe. It is famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings (from the Middle Ages to the Modern period). The collections of paintings from the 14th-century and Renaissance period include some absolute masterpieces: Giotto, Simone Martini, Piero della Francesca, Beato Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Mantegna, Correggio, Leonardo, Raffaello, Michelangelo and Caravaggio, in addition to many precious works by European paintersOne of the most featured artists at the museums is Sandro Botticelli, with his worldwide famous works ’Primavera’ and the ‘Birth of Venus’ that show Beauty in its highest form. The Uffizi Tour includes skip the line reservation service to avoid the long lines to access the museum.
